MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Air Force and Air Defense are on regular alert despite the additional precautions caused by the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush.
"The forces assigned daily to protect the skies are enough to provide for the summit's security and to prevent terrorist acts similar to the ones that took place in the United States on September 11," head of the Russian Air Force press service Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
"We have got no orders on putting air force or air defense units on higher degrees of alert," Drobyshevsky said.
Bush is arriving in Moscow late on Thursday.
