Final stage of Russian army commanders' training to take place in Moscow region

MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax-AVN) - High-ranking officials of the Russian Armed Forces will work on perfection of means and forces control in a joint-arms operation and test methods of commanders' work in field conditions on the final day of a training session, a spokesman for the Armed Forces main combat training department said on Friday.

The training session is underway at the Alabino proving range of the Moscow military district, the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"Practical training that involves high-ranking officials of the Russian Armed Forces aims at analyzing a series of problems related to control over forces and means in a joint-arms operation," the spokesman said.

Among these problems are methods of commanders' work during preparations for the operation on operational and tactical levels, he noted.

"The proving range will host practical studies of up-to-date communication means and automatic control systems on the operational and tactical levels; participants in the training will also study organization of control over combat within a squad, platoon, company, battalion and regiment," the spokesman said.

The training will take place at facilities of the 2nd guard Taman motorized rifle division under command of Major General Andrei Glushchenko. Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin will supervise the training and sum up its results.
