Russian, U.S presidents sign Treaty on Strategic Offensive Reductions

MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President George W. Bush have agreed to reduce the number of strategic nuclear warheads to 1,700 - 2,200 for each country before December 31, 2012, says a Treaty on Strategic Offensive Reductions they signed on Friday.

Under the terms of the treaty, each party will determine the composition and structure of its strategic offensive weapons within these limits.
