U.S., Russia cooperate on Iran - Bush

MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and the United States are cooperating on Iran, U.S. President George W. Bush said at a Friday news conference following his Kremlin talks with President Vladimir Putin, adding that Iran was a very important question.

He called for bending every effort to prevent any form of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, to prevent such weapons from reaching the hands of terrorists.

Ahead of his visit a high-ranking American official said that the U.S. has intelligence information on Russian assistance to Iranian nuclear missile programs. He regretted that so far Russia and the United States have not discussed these matters in detail.
