Siberian, Far Eastern military districts to hold bilateral CPX in late June

KHABAROVSK. June 3 (Interfax-AVN) - A bilateral command post exercise (CPX) will happen in the Siberian and Far Eastern military districts in late June, a spokesman for the Far Eastern military district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.

The districts' control bodies participating in the exercise will use maps to practice a model of combat operations from the Ural Range to the Pacific coast, the spokesman said. The main attention is supposed to be paid to actions on the Eastern Siberian theatre of operations.

The parties are to check the readiness of strategic and operational control bodies and troops to accomplish assigned missions as well as interaction of the districts' control bodies with the leadership of local law-enforcement agencies.

The CPX will include a company-level tactical training with live firing that is aimed to upgrade the skills of headquarters and all categories of servicemen.

Control bodies and operational groups of both military districts, Pacific Fleet, regional departments and centers of the Emergencies and Interior Ministries and Federal Border Guard Service will take part in the exercise. Its results will be summed up in the Siberian military district headquarters in the city of Chita.
