GROZNY/ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Supreme Court of Chechnya on Wednesday repealed the verdict of acquittal of two high-ranking Interior Ministry officers figuring in the case of the shooting of Sergeyev Posad riot police in Chechnya in March 2000, Deputy Prosecutor General Sergei Fridinsky told Interfax.
"The Supreme Court of Chechnya has ordered an additional investigation in this case," Fridinsky said.
The Prosecutor General's Office earlier filed an appeal against the ruling of the Staropromyslovsky District Court in Grozny, which acquitted the two Interior Ministry officers, who were charged with negligence that resulted in the death of the policemen.
