Rebels who attacked Shali commandant's office captured

KHANKALA. June 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Four rebels of a group that had attacked the military commandant's office in Shali in the early hours of Wednesday were killed, while three others were taken prisoner, an official in the Regional Operating Headquarters in charge of the anti-guerrilla operation in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The detainees said they belonged to Akhmed Yunusov's gang.

According to data available to the headquarters, federal forces have carried out five special operations since Wednesday. The operations took place in the Achkhoi-Martan, Vedeno, Shali and Nozhai-Yurt districts.

Units engaged in the operations seized 45 pieces of firearms, 65 artillery shells, 31 mines, 19 grenade launchers, 292 hand grenades and four kilograms of explosives. In addition, three landmines were defused.
