BALTIYSK. June 6 (Interfax-AVN) -- Chief-of-Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Hussein Kivrikoglu met with Baltic Fleet Commander Admiral Vladimir Valuyev on Thursday to discuss military cooperation issues, chief of the fleet's press service Colonel Anatoly Lobsky told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The two officials also discussed European security and strategic stability, relations between Russia and NATO and measures against international terrorism.
While staying in the Kaliningrad region Kivrikoglu sailed across the water area of the Baltiysk naval base on board a boat and visited the Bespokoiny destroyer.
Kivrikoglu arrived in Kaliningrad from St. Petersburg where he met meet with the Leningrad military district's chief-of-staff and first deputy commander Colonel General Pavel Labutin
Earlier the Turkish Armed Forces chief-of-staff met with his Russian counterpart Anatoly Kvashnin and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
Kivrikoglu will leave for Ankara late on Thursday.
