KYIV. June 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Ukrainian border guard troops will restore a brigade of guard ships headquartered in the town of Ismail in the Odesa region by September 15 this year, a source in the state border guard committee told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
A decision on the matter was made at a session of the committee's board, the source said. "It is motivated by the necessity to provide reliable protection of the Black Sea border," he stressed.
According to him, a decision to disband the brigade was made by the committee in 2000 "in order to optimize the border guard troops structure."
Personnel and composition of the brigade will be restored in full, the source added.
