KYIV. June 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine has proven its serious intention to integrate with Euro-Atlantic institutions with a number of actions, said Deputy Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Serhiy Pirozhkov.
He made the statement at an international seminar "Ukraine and Regional Security Cooperation: a Look into the Future" in Kyiv on Monday.
The document on the exchange of classified information that was signed with NATO in 1995, has been prepared for ratification, Pirozhkov said. "The Ukrainian Cabinet has gotten ready to submit the document to the parliament, and it may be ratified within the next few months," he remarked.
Secondly, Ukraine has started a defense analysis of the situation in the armed forces and the formation of a civilian control system, which needs to be done under the Membership Action Plan (MAP), Pirozhkov said.
"Thirdly, we cooperate in the reform of the armed forces, all Process, a program of analysis and evaluation of the possible compatibility of the national armed forces and NATO units]," Pirozhkov said.
