TBILISI. June 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian and Georgian experts will meet in Moscow to discuss military and political issues, including Russian military bases in the framework of drafting a bilateral framework treaty, a source in the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
"The main problem on which positions of the two countries are considerably different is the term of functioning of Russia's 12th military base in Batumi and 62nd military base in Akhalkalaki," the source said.
According to earlier reports, the Georgian party believes that three years will be enough to withdraw the bases, but Russia insists on a 14-year period for the withdrawal.
The Georgian delegation will bed by ambassador without function Mikhail Ukleba and the Russian delegation by Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Vasilyev.
The negotiations will take place from Thursday to Friday.
