MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax-AVN) - An office of the Rosoboronexport state-owned arms trading company has opened in Austria, the Rosoboronexport press-service reported on Thursday.
According to the report, presentation of the office was carried out on the territory of the Russian trade mission in the Austrian Republic.
Rosoboronexport's regional office in Vienna is authorized to represent Russia's interests in Austria and other European countries, carry out negotiations with foreign partners on issues of export deliveries and providing services of Russia's defense industry enterprises.
The talks in question will cover deliveries of spare parts and component elements, including as partial compensation for Russia's state debt to European countries, repairs of aircraft and air defense assets of Russian make at Russian enterprises and at customers' plants, upgrade of aircraft and armored assets, including MIG-21 Fishbed, SU-22 Fitter, Mi-24 Hind, BMP-1 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and T-72 tanks in accordance with NATO requirements.
In addition to that, the enterprise is ready to develop cooperation with Western European nations in the aerospace sphere, implementation of servicing projects, certification and safety guarantees of Russian assets employed in Europe, the report says.
