CHITA, Southern Siberia. June 28 (Interfax-AVN) - After extensive negotiations between the Siberian military district command and leadership of the Chitaenergo company the latter restored electric energy supplies to houses of a compound subordinate to the housing department in the Chita region, the department's main engineer Colonel Mikhail Tsalko said on Friday.
"Demanding the district command to extinguish the debt of RUB21m (USD666,667) the Chitaenergo company stopped the supplies of electric energy to 48 houses and three dormitories where 2,500 families are living," Tsalko told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"RUB21m is the debt that all military units and budget organizations are to pay to the company due to untimely allocation of money from the federal budget," Tsalko stressed.
At the same time a source in the Chitaenergo told Interfax- Military News Agency that "the general debt of vicious tax- dodgers living in houses subordinate to the department is about RUB4.5m (USD142,857)."
