Foreign specialists from 46 countries to visit Russian Expo Arms 2002 show

NIZHNY TAGIL. July 3 (Interfax-AVN) - As many as 196 foreign specialists from 46 countries are invited to the Russian Expo Arms 2002 exhibition that is to take place in the city of Nizhny Tagil in the Sverdlovsk region from July 9 to 13, Valery Rudenko, director of the Nizhny Tagil Metal Testing Institute, said.

There will be more foreign specialists at this show than at previous ones, Rudenko told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday. According to him, 48 foreign specialists from 14 countries visited Russian Expo Arms 2001.

The foreign guests will arrive at the show on an invitation from the Ministry of International and Foreign Policy Relations of the Sverdlovsk region and Rosoboronexport company, which is the only state mediator in exports of Russian arms and military hardware.

The Ukrainian and Swiss parties will have separate sections at the show.

According to Rudenko, Russian arms attract serious attention because of their advanced combat specifications and relatively low cost.
