Airborne scouts undergo special training before mission in Chechnya

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Servicemen of the 45th airborne reconnaissance regiment operating under command of Colonel Viktor Polygin and headquartered in Moscow are undergoing a special training course before mission in Chechnya, a spokesman for the regiment's headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

The spokesman said that the course envisages field exercises and provides for the servicemen to wear flak jackets and helmets of the territory of the unit in order to imitate combat environment of Chechnya.

Special exercises on the obstacle course were added to the physical training course; these are perfumed every day.

The spokesman stressed that in Chechnya reconnaissance missions of the regiment's servicemen last at least for ten days.

The principal emphasis in training airborne scouts is out on special training and range practice.

The rotation of the servicemen of the 45th separate airborne reconnaissance regiment in Chechnya has been scheduled for August and September. The number of the personnel is not subject to changes, the spokesman added.
