Professional Russian military presence in demand for talks in Brussels - research fund head

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax-AVN) - President of the Politika fund Vyacheslav Nikonov told a news conference on Wednesday that several dozen professional Russian military must come to Brussels for the effective work of the "20" format.

"The lack is evident. Russia has never trained military in such a field. There is no training of the Russian military at foreign colleges for further work in international cooperation," Nikonov stressed.

The system of Russian military training is obsolete and it does not meet the current requirements. Nikonov said "there are very few people among the military, who do realize the necessity for Russia's closing to NATO."

He also thinks that Russia should be represented in Brussels by top-ranking officials, "but not from the young breed, as these will lack expertise."
