MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Captain Alexander Kolodyazhny, commander of a platoon, died in Kosovo when carrying out a peacekeeping task, a competent source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
The tragedy happened near the Kolotovic village at 9:20 p.m. Moscow time (1720 GMT) on Sunday when an APC with Russian peacekeepers overturned while patrolling the territory, the source said.
The ministry's press service said reported that when approaching an eroded section of the road Kolodyazhny ordered the personnel to leave the APC and continued riding with the driver.
As a result of the overturn Kolodyazhny died while the driver was not injured, the press service said.
