KHANKALA. July 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Two Chechen policemen were caught in a booby trap and injured in the Achkhoi-Martan district, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department for Chechnya told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
"The booby trap was planted in the body of a Kenwood radio station which policemen procured from an individual the day before," the spokesman said.
As a result of the blast the policemen received fragmentation injuries in their heads and arms.
The radio station was packed with plastic explosive. It blasted when the policemen switched it on for the second time.
The spokesman added that policemen in the Urus-Martan district eliminated an official of the dzhamaat (rebel administration) in the Gekhi village. The official was involved in the murder of the Valerik village administration head in June last year.
