LONDON. July 22 (Interfax-AVN)- Farnborough-2002 is the last air show at which Russian aircraft will not be displayed.
"For the first time in many years, our aircraft are not taking part in such a major air show as Farnborough-2002, due to the risk of seizure under a lawsuit filed by the Swiss company Noga. This, however, is temporary, and the next air show exposition will include Russian aircraft," Russian Industry, Science and Technology Minister Ilya Klebanov told journalists on Monday.
Klebanov told Interfax-Military News Agency that the government is taking concrete measures and is preparing appropriate legal actions that will be unveiled in the near future.
"Our best lawyers are at work. We hope that we will be able to settle the conflict," he said.
Though the Russian section of the show does not feature combat and civilian planes, it is still among the best ones at Farnborough, Klebanov went on. First, Russia exhibits many latest developments of the national aircraft industry. Second, Russian companies act like a single entity for the first time at this show.
"Our companies will be less in number, but will exhibit a higher number of interesting exhibits at upcoming aerospace shows such as MAKS in Moscow and those in Le Bourget and Farnborough. This is a manifestation of the consortium-establishment process in the aircraft industry, of which we have been speaking for a long time," the minister stressed.
