Russia to build several nuclear plants in Iran by 2012

MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia intends to build several nuclear power plants in Iran by 2012.

This information is included in a government-approved draft of a long-term program of development for trade, economic, industrial and technical scientific cooperation between Russia and Iraq from now until 2012, the government information department reported.

In particular, the cooperation between Russian and Iranian organizations envisions the construction of a new nuclear power plant with two 1,000-mWt power units at the Bushehr site and another plant with two 1,000-mWt power units at the Akhvaz site.
