KYIV. July 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Mykola Palchuk has been appointed acting chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, and Leonid Fursa has been appointed acting commander-in-chief of the Air Force, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry told Interfax on Monday.
Petro Shulyak was dismissed as chief of the General Staff at the president's order on Sunday. On the day of the air crash in Lviv, Shulyak was performing the duties of defense minister.
Volodymyr Strelnikov, former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Air Force, has been detained by the Prosecutor General's Office.
