MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Tbilisi objects to a joint operation between Russian and Georgian servicemen in the Pankisi Gorge.
"Any Russian or joint raids of servicemen in the Pankisi Gorge are out of the question," Georgian Foreign Minister Irakly Menagarishvili said in an interview published in the Thursday issue of Vremya Novostei newspaper.
Following a foray of rebels from Georgia into Chechnya on July 27, Russian politicians have voiced the need for a special operation against the rebels in the Pankisi Gorge.
