GROZNY. Aug 6 (Interfax-AVN) - A brief battle took place between militants and Interior Ministry troops backed by the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the village of Ilyinskaya in the Grozny rural district.
"Members of illegal armed formations fired at troops who were Khattab," Ilya Shabalikin, spokesman for the headquarters of the Combined Federal Forces in the North Caucasus, told Interfax- Military News Agency on Tuesday.
Two militants were killed in the combat, Shabalikin said. They were on the Federal Wanted List for committing crimes punishable in keeping with Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (terrorism).
