MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The 10th tank division of the Moscow military district will practice the tactics of tank units' operation in main types of joint-arms combat during an upcoming command post exercise (CPX), a source in the district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
The commander of the division, Colonel Ivan Buvaltsev, is appointed commander of the exercise, the source said.
"Participants in the four-day CPX will use maps and go out in the fields to practice problematic aspects of tankmen's combat and operational training, as well as interaction of tank units and motorized rifle units in combat. In particular, they will practice tactics of tank units' operation in main types of present-day combat within a battalion-size task force taking into account the experience obtained during the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus," the source said.
The exercise will end with live firing within tank companies.
The 10th tank division is headquartered in the town of Boguchar in the south of the Voronezh region, European Russia.
