NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Aug 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Thirty officers from a composite unit set up by the Volga-Vyatka railway police department left for a service trip in the North Caucasus on Thursday, an official in the department's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"The officers will serve on the Kozma Minin armored train. They will be responsible for escorting cargo and trains with servicemen. The service trip will last for six months," the official said.
The policemen are to replace 30 officers from the Yastreb elite police detachment of the Volga-Vyatka railway department who have been serving in Chechnya since February this year.
"Their return to Nizhny Novgorod is scheduled for mid-August. No casualties have been registered in the Yastreb detachment," the official stressed.
