Kazakh defense minister to observe training voyage of Russia's Caspian Flotilla

MAKHACHKALA. Aug 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Kazakh Defense Minister Mukhtar Altynbayev arrived in Makhachkala, the capital of Russia's inland republic of Dagestan, from Almaty on Friday.

Altynbayev and his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov will observe the second stage of the Caspian Flotilla's training voyage that is to involve a wing of SU-27 Flanker fighters of the Kazakh Air Force.

In addition to the two ministers, Federal Border Guard Service Director Konstantin Totsky, President of Russia's inland republic of Tatarstan Mentimer Shaimiyev and Astrakhan Region Governor Anatoly Guzhvin have arrived in Dagestan to observe the war games.

The training voyage will end on August 15.
