MOSCOW. Aug. 14 (Interfax-AVN) - In accordance with the Russian Navy's training plan, ships of the Baltic Fleet began their participation in a training voyage aimed at improving interaction between various assets of the coastal infrastructure, assistant to the Navy commander Colonel Igor Dygalo told Interfax- Military News Agency on Wednesday.
Dygalo said that general supervision over the cruise had been assigned to commander of the fleet Admiral Valery Valuyev.
More than 10 surface ships will are to take part in the exercises; these are to operate in accordance with their mission and interact with naval aviation aircraft.
The source said that scheduled training voyages are held every year at all fleets for maintaining skills of the Navy personnel, technical readiness of the ships and armament in accordance with requirements to national security at sea and ocean directions.
