U.S. congressmen favor continuation of talks on strategic issues with Russia

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov on Wednesday met with a delegation of U.S. congressmen led by U.S. Congressman Henry Hyde.

"Among other things, the meeting touched upon the importance of continuing the bilateral negotiation process on key strategic issues, including the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the means of their delivery," the Russian Foreign Ministry release obtained by Interfax reads.

Meeting participants expressed their satisfaction with the positive development of Russian-U.S. relations, close cooperation between the two countries in opposing global threats and challenges, primarily international terrorism.
