Blackseafor vessels arrive in Romania

SEVASTOPOL. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Vessels of the Blackseafor naval interaction group have moored in the Romanian port of Constanta, the Russian Black Sea Fleet press service said on Thursday.

The group comprising vessels from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine left the Turkish port of Eregli on Monday, a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency. In accordance with the combat interaction plans, it practiced tactical maneuvering, communication establishment and cargo relocation from the Bulgarian minesweeper Shkval to the Russian minesweeper Zheleznyakov.

Late on Monday, the vessels dropped anchor in the outer roads of the Bulgarian port of Burgas. The Bulgarian vessel was fueled, and the group left for Konstantsa on Tuesday.

An agreement on the Blackseafor establishment was signed in Istanbul on April 2, 2001, with a goal to promote strengthening of friendship, good neighborly relations and mutual trust between Black Sea countries as well as at to strengthen peace and stability by expanding cooperation between the six navies. The group comprises vessels from Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
