TBILISI. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The Georgian National Security Council will be overhauled after the U.S. pattern.
"The Security Council is working out this concept to allow U.S. specialists to study it later," Dzhemal Gakhokidze, the council's deputy secretary, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
He failed to say what exactly the "U.S.-pattern" reform meant. "I only say that, when reforms are over, the National Security Council will be a consultative body under the president, in charge of the nation's strategic and top-priority aspects, while today it handles problems of practical policy," he said.
In particular, Gakhokidze said new core aspects of the council's work will be eradicating terrorism, transport corridors security, and other global items.
He failed to name the timeframe for the concept's working out. "We have time, and we should be very meticulous about this," he said.
