NOVOSIBIRSK. Aug 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has stated that the country's law enforcement agencies have information on a rebel group that might be involved in the MI-26 Halo helicopter crash.
"There is such information, but I would not discuss it in public," Ivanov told journalists in Novosibirsk.
He said a number of theories on the MI-26 crash are still under investigation. "I cannot back any of these theories until the results of the examination are made available," the defense minister said.
Ivanov has ordered measures to be developed to step up security in Khankala.
"Within the next few days, I expect a plan on how to strengthen security near Khankala's airfield and the area nearby," Ivanov said.
