KHANKALA. Aug. 26 (Interfax-AVN) - As many as 29 fire attacks of Federal positions and check-points were registered in Chechnya last week from August 19 to August 26, a source at the headquarters of the Federal Unified Forces in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
The source added that the guerillas also carried out two attacks against Federal convoys.
In accordance with data provided by the headquarters, as many as 19 blasts of Federal armored vehicles were registered in the republic last week. Sappers of the federal forces defused more than 200 explosive devices, including 13 land-mines, and eliminated seven abatis obstacles on mountain roads.
