Air Force planes to scatter clouds over Moscow on City Day

MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Air Force planes will ensure sunny weather in Moscow on City Day to be celebrated on Saturday.

"To scatter clouds, if any, eight aircraft are to be engaged - IL-76 Candid, AN-26 Curl, AN-72 Coaler and IL-18 Coot," Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, chief of the Air Force press service, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

According to him, the planes are fitted with special equipment. They will "raid" clouds taking off from Chkalovsky airfield. All expenses on ensuring sunny weather have been assumed by Moscow government, Drobyshevsky said.
