BAKU. Aug 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev arrived in Vilnius with a three-day official visit on Tuesday at the invitation from his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevicius, a spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Under the auspices of the visit Abiyev will meet President Valdas Adamkus and Seim chairman Arturas Paulauskas.
During the meeting between Abiyev and Linkevicius they are to discuss various spheres of the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian military cooperation development as well as contracts between two countries under the auspices of the NATO program Partnership for Peace.
In the course of the visit Abiyev will study the Lithuanian Military Academy, Crisis Control Center, Warrant Officers School, visit a training regiment and regional airspace control center.
