TBILISI. Aug 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian State Security Minister Valery Khaburdzania has announced that there will be no mopping-up operations in the Pankisi Gorge.
Khaburdzania made this statement at a Friday meeting with foreign ambassadors accredited in Georgia and journalists working in Pankisi.
On the other hand, special services and interior troops engaged in the anti-criminal operation in the Pankisi Gorge "will have a lot of work," Khaburdzania noted. In particular, there might be people using forged identity documents in the gorge, whowill be subject to checks.
