Over 45,000 people to be drafted in Ukraine in autumn this year

KYIV. Sept 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 45,000 young people will be drafted in Ukraine in autumn this year, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.

"In accordance with a Ukrainian president regulation issued on August 29, 2002 and order of the defense minister 45,300 people are to be drafted," a press service official told Interfax- Military News Agency.

In accordance with a schedule 32,000 people will sent to the Armed Forces which is 1,000 less than in spring 2002, 7,000 to the Interior Ministry troops, 4,200 to the border guard forces, 1,600 to the civil defense troops and 500 to the security service units.
