Armed Forces combat training chiefs to hold training session in Volga region this week

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Common approaches to key problems in combat training are due to be focused on at a training session of Russian Armed Forces' combat training officials held in the city of Ulyanovsk on September 12-14, deputy head of Russian Armed Forces main department on combat training Lieutenant General Alexander Gerasimov told Interfax- Military News Agency on Monday.

"The session will be attended by combat training officials of armed forces services, branches, military districts' deputy commanders for combat training and heads of combat training departments, chiefs of army's combat training sections, deputy commanders of permanent combat readiness formations and chiefs of Army's combined arms test fields and training centers," Gerasimov said.

He said key issues on Armed Forces combat training programs in test fields, firing fields and training facilities would be spotlighted. New methods to organize practical tactics and firing training, driving tanks, IFVs and APCs will be discussed at the meeting. "Some demonstrational action will take place under special conditions, given the experience obtained during anti- terror operation in the North Caucasus," he said.
