MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax-AVN) - An operational headquarters on launching the third power-generating unit for the Kalinin atomic power plant completed its work, a source in the press center of the Rosenergoatom consortium told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.
"The headquarters members led by the consortium's deputy director generation Alexander Polushkin discussed preparation and holding of launching works, selection and licensing of personnel, environmental security," the source said.
The detailed attention was paid to the works on the automatic control system over technological process. At present this is the most important movement taking into account following terms envisaged in a schedule on the unit's operational development. Designers say that the works on the system will be completed after September this year.
"According to specialists, the implementation of the project will help raise the security of the Kalinin power plant," the source stressed.
He noted that Polushkin ordered the power plant leadership to prepare and submit to the consortium an analytical note on the situation with the project featuring the detailed explanation of problems that harm the unit's operational development.
Polushkin pointed out the importance of the timely commissioning of installations taking into account the terms of implementation of the Energy-Effective Economy federal purpose- oriented program.
The source added that the continuation of construction of the third power-generating unit at the Kalinin power plant is one of the most wide-scale events of the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy in 2002.
