Russian military bases in Georgia operating in normal regime - press service

TBILISI. Sept 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian military bases located in Georgia are operating in normal regime, chief of the press service in the Russian troops group in the Trans-Caucasus Colonel Alexander Lutskevich told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

"Regardless a Russian leadership statement on the possible infliction of strikes on terrorist bases found in Georgia the group's command did not any orders on putting troops on alert and units of the group are operating in normal regime as well," Lutskevich said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin made the statement in Moscow on Wednesday that due to the fact that the Georgian leadership does not take measures to neutralize international terrorist gangs hiding in the republic Russia might take adequate measures.

"The combat readiness of the Russian troops located in Georgia is permanently maintained on the high level and so far there was no need to put the troops on high alert," Lutskevich added.
