ROSTOV-ON-DON. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Terms of service life of equipment from the 1st guard missile brigade of the North Caucasus military district is prolonged for five years.
"Brigades of specialists from companies of the Russian and Ukrainian defense industry replaced details, components, fuel and lubricants of the missile and artillery armament. After holding regulatory works launch systems, transport-loading mechanisms and checking machines will be used in normal conditions, spokesman for the district's industry Viktor Kontik told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
He said that works on prolonging service life of the armament was carried out by specialists from Russian Barrikady, Arsenal enterprises, Ulyanovsk machine-building plant, Votkinsky mechanical plant, Bryansk automobile plant, Saratov component plant and their colleagues from Kyiv.
"Starting from early this year specialist brigades from over 15 defense enterprises carried out technical servicing of 300 pieces of complicated combat equipment and armament including SAM systems, multiple launch rocket systems, means of artillery reconnaissance and control over fire," Kontik said.
Several million rubles were saved due to that servicing. Next year the brigades will continue their works in the district's units heading directly to their permanent stationing areas, Kontik added.
