A spokesman for the police department for Chechnya said that extremists kidnapped a local resident in the town of Sernovodsk on Sunday evening.
"A Sernovodsk resident named Khamzat Gubashev, was driven away in an unknown direction on Sunday. He was kidnapped by a group of rebels posing as police officers. They had fake documents, wore the police uniform, drove two cars with special signals. Bandits operating near the Chechen-Ingush administrative border are attacking local residents with a goal to discredit federal forces," the spokesman said.
