MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The committee of chiefs-of- staff of the CIS member nations held a session at the CIS military cooperation coordination headquarters in Moscow on Thursday, the press service of the headquarters reported.
"The session was chaired by Russian Armed Forces Chief-of- Staff Anatoly Kvashnin. Secretary General of the CIS Collective Security Council Valery Nikolayenko took part in the session," the report says.
Participants in the event considered organization of information exchange between the general staffs of the CIS nations and establishment of a unified system of communication between the armed forces of these nations. Actions to establish regional collective security systems, the functioning of the Collective Rapid-Deployment Forces in Central Asia and other issues of mutual interest were discussed as well.
