TBILISI. Sept 23 (Interfax-AVN) - French military instructors will train Georgian army in cooperation with their colleagues from the United States.
French instructors will arrive in Georgia already this year to train a Georgian mountain rifle battalion, officials of the French General Staff told reporters in Tbilisi on Monday.
At the same time, the Georgian Defense Ministry's press service said "other concrete spheres of military cooperation between the two countries were specified as well" that during Monday talks with the French delegation.
"In particular, France will help Georgia in integration into NATO bodies and in training Georgian officers in French higher military educational establishments," a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The official stressed that "the French delegation will spend several days studying the needs of the Georgian army in order to provide aid to it in the future; in addition, the delegation will visit the Chechen strap of the Georgian-Russian border."
