Russian, British military to share experience in training peacekeeping units

MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian and British military will share experience in training peacekeeping units and accomplishing peacekeeping missions in conflict zones, Land Forces deputy commander in charge of peacekeeping troops Lieutenant General Valery Yevnevich told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

"We consider it extremely profitable to cooperate with other countries, inflicting Great Britain, in such an important sphere as peacekeeping. The British military have collected huge experience in accomplishment of peacekeeping missions but we also have our own experience to share," Yevnevich said.

A Russian military delegation headed by Yevnevich will visit Britain on October 7-11. The delegation consists of 12 generals and officers of the General Staff and Land Forces Staff.

"In accordance with the visit's itinerary, the delegation will work in the British joint-arms center for conflict studies, studying methods of peacekeepers' training and views of the British military command on the nature and ways of accomplishing missions in conflict zones," Yevnevich added.
