Russian enterprises to compete for repairing assets of Interior Ministry troops

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax-AVN) - A bill changing the equipment repair system in the Russian Interior Ministry troops has been submitted to the State Duma lower house of parliament.

The bill allows the Interior Ministry troops to place orders for repairs of their combat, special and aircraft assets at both enterprises of the Defense Ministry and other organizations on a competitive basis, deputy chairman of the Duma defense committee Eduard Vorobyov told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

"The passing of the bill will provide work for enterprises located near the stationing areas of the Interior Ministry troops and reduce expenses, in particular, on transportation of assets in need of repairs to enterprises of the Defense Ministry, Vorobyov said.

The government will save several million rubles if the bill is passed, he noted.

According to the lawmaker, the defense committee will support the bill at the Duma's plenary session.
