ULYANOVSK, Volga Region. Oct 16 (Interfax-AVN) - A new investment program will be worked out for the local Aviastar-SP aircraft building enterprise.
The decision on the issue was made at a conference on aircraft building industry development in the Volga federal district that was chaired by President Vladimir Putin's envoy to the district Sergei Kiriyenko.
Deputy envoy Sergei Obozov told reporters that the conference focused on investments in the construction and upgrade of TU-204 and AN-124 Ruslan planes. The enterprise already has a stock of orders for 44 planes, he stressed. Half of the orders are placed by foreign companies.
Aviastar-SP Director General Viktor Mikhailov said that a company will be allowed to invest in Ulyanovsk-based aircraft building enterprises only if it becomes a full-fledged shareholder of the Aviastar-SP JSC.
The conference involved officials of the Volga-Dnieper Airlines, Kaskol group of companies, Aviastar-SP, Tupolev company and other enterprises. The parties agreed to set up a group that would work out a new investment program for Aviastar-SP.
