MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov expressed hopes that Georgia and its people will give serious consideration to whether their country should join NATO or not.
"They have to consider this issue carefully and avoid making any unjustified statements," Ivanov said.
He made this comment during the joint Internet project of Interfax and the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Speaking at a news conference at the Interfax main office on Friday, Ivanov noted that one has to assess "the role of propaganda and other motives standing behind statements addressing Georgia's NATO ambitions."
