Terms of studies in Russian artillery academies to be reduced to four years - official

MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax-AVN) - In accordance with a decision of Land Forces Commander and Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Kormiltsev, officials are considering a reduction of the terms of studies in higher military educational establishments that train specialists for missile troops and artillery, chief of the Armed Forces missile troops and artillery department Lieutenant General Vladimir Zaritsky said on Tuesday.

"Studies in those establishments last for five years, but the term will be reduced to four years in some of them already in the near future," Zaritsky told a news conference in Moscow.

He stressed that the Saratov affiliate of the Artillery University that trained specialists for the missile troops would be disbanded in 2003.
