MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The joint board of the Russian and Belarussian Defense Ministries will hold two sessions in 2003, a source in the joint board's secretariat told Interfax- Military News Agency on Sunday,
The supreme military command of the two nations will meet in Minsk in April and in Moscow in October, the source said.
The first session will address the draft concept of basic legislation on liability to bear arms and military service, the draft list of top-priority acts of the Russian-Belarussian Union in the sphere of defense, military service and social security of servicemen, the draft list of terms used in basic legal acts of the Union in the sphere of defense, military service and social security of servicemen, technical cover and restoration of the region's railways, and progress in the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan of Information and Propaganda Support of Russian-Belarussian Integration in the Military Sphere.
The second session will address the joint armament program of the CIS nations for up to 2005, drafting of proposals for approximation and unification of legislation on national defense, military service and social security of servicemen, progress in the implementation of the plan of unification of basic regulatory documents of the Russian and Belarussian armed forces on application of the regional troops grouping, and results of implementation of the military-research cooperation program for 2002-2006 by the Russian and Belarussian Defense Ministries.
