CHITA, Southern Siberia. Nov 11 (Interfax-AVN) - A delegation of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces started a visit to the Siberian military district on Monday, the district's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"The military delegation is led by Major General Masarzhav, deputy chief-of-staff and chief of the logistics support department of the Mongolian Armed Forces. The visit of the Mongolian army representatives will last until November 15," a press service official said.
The delegation is planning to meet with commander of the district Colonel General Vladimir Boldyrev and visit military garrisons in the cities of Ulan-Ude and Irkutsk, as well as an officer's course and a warrant officer school in Chita.
The Mongolian military will be briefed on the progress in the combat training of the district's troops, the training and educational process and activity of several defense industry enterprises located in the Trans-Baikal region.
In addition, the delegation members will visit several museums and places of interest in Russia's internal republic of Buryatia, the Irkutsk and Chita regions.
"The visit of the Mongolian military delegation is pre-planned and written into the plan of developing international military contacts of the Russian Defense Ministry," the press service official said.
